Healing Gold – The Daily Elixir
This fiery, golden brew is my go-to for energy, digestion, and calming inflammation. Simple roots, warm spice, and a touch of heat come together in a bold tonic that feels like a reset. Brew it strong, store in the fridge, and finish with fresh lemon juice just before serving. Sip it as a shot, mix into kombucha, or top with soda water to soften the fire — it’s invigorating and grounding all at once.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Serves: About 1 L
Ingredients
1 hand-sized knob fresh ginger, chopped
1 hand-sized knob fresh turmeric, chopped
1 fresh chili (or more, to taste)
1 tsp black peppercorns
2 cinnamon sticks
1 liter water
Fresh lemon juice (added only when serving)
Method
Brew the base: Place ginger, turmeric, chili, peppercorns, and cinnamon in a pot with 1 liter water. Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
Cool & store: Strain into a glass bottle or jar and refrigerate.
Finish with lemon: Add fresh lemon juice only when serving — adding it earlier may cause curdling.
Serve your way: Drink as a concentrated shot, stir into kombucha for probiotics, or top with soda water for a lighter sip.
Variations
Green Tea Boost – add 2 green tea bags while simmering for extra antioxidants.
Maple Kick – stir in 1 tbsp Canadian maple syrup when serving for sweetness.
Soothing Nightcap – add a splash of warm milk (dairy or plant-based) for a golden latte-style drink.
